Churches Together in Balham and Tooting
About Us
Leadership:
Vicar – Revd Jonathan MacNeaney

We are the parish church for Balham, situated on the High Street and welcoming of all who come. Our services have a formal Anglican structure so will feel familiar to those who have attended other Anglican churches and will give a clear shape for those who haven’t.

Our main gathering is on Sundays at 10.30AM when we celebrate the eucharist and have a short (10 minute) sermon reflecting on the scripture that has been read.
Our Vision

We are a diverse, inclusive Christian community sharing and growing in the love of God through worship, hospitality and service.
Our Mission
We seek to be a place of welcome by opening our doors to everyone and by engaging with both the heritage and future of our neighbourhood. We are committed to nurturing people of all ages in the Christian faith. We support and advocate for any who feel lost, marginalised, or vulnerable. We strive to deepen our own relationship with Jesus Christ through the sacraments, prayer, learning and social engagement.

Ministries
In addition to our weekly service, Open Church - with tea, coffee, biscuits, games and company - is held every Wednesday and Saturday morning 10-12. Our Parish Nurse runs free Health Advice Sessions on the last Wednesday of the month. Balham Sewing Bees takes place once a month on Saturday afternoons. Our music director runs adult and children choirs every Monday during term time as well as offering sight-reading lessons. Sunday School runs every week except during All-Age Services and we have Collective Worship with our school, Trinity St Mary's, every Thursday. 'Little Lambs' playgroup is every Friday morning at 10am.

Special Services & External Hire
Baptisms at St Mary's are held during the Sunday 10.30am Service. Weddings and Funerals can be arranged through the clergy. The Narthex (hall), Music Room and Balcony Meeting Rooms are all available for external hire by community groups and individuals, and the Nave can be rented for one-off concerts.
Facilities

The church and toilet facilities are accessible and we have a hearing loop. There is limited parking available for those attending services on a first come first served basis.
